Easy to Get to and Through

Dayton International is conveniently located just 10 miles north of downtown near the intersection of Interstates 70 and 75. The best thing about the airport is that it feels like a regional airport. The smaller size means that lines at check-in counters and security checkpoints are almost non-existent. Everything that you need is found in one terminal. You do not have to worry about shuttle busses or people movers getting you to remote gates or mid-field terminals.

Smaller Isn't Always Better

While the smaller airport is easy to navigate, it limits the number of shops, eateries and amenities that the airport can offer. Although they are excellent, there is a lack of diversity. The terminal houses only five shops and eight restaurants. The limited selection includes Max and Erma's and the MVP Bar and Grill as well as Boston Stoker, offering the city's premier coffee brand.

Fun Ways to Pass the Time

Buy a book from Heritage Booksellers using their read and return program. If you finish reading and return the book within six months, they will refund half your purchase price. Previously owned books in good condition are sold at a deep discount. Books returned in poor condition are donated to a local charity to encourage reading in the community. The airport public arts program feature various displays highlighting popular attractions in the Dayton area dedicated to history, nature, science and fine art. You can also surf the web or stay in touch with family and friends using the terminal's complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi connection. The airport also has free charging stations.

Airport Facts

Now serving more than one million passengers annually, the airport traces its roots back to 1928 and aviation pioneers Orville and Wilbur Wright, who were Dayton natives. It is named after James M. Cox, a former Governor of Ohio, who was also a nominee for President of the United States. Additional terminal amenities include an interfaith chapel, a USO lounge and a modern business center.
